It started with a binder in 2014.
I was a kid trading cards out of a worn binder in the era of Gold Stars, EXs, and Megas. I still remember the exact feeling of pulling a card I'd been chasing for months: heart racing, hands careful, showing everyone who'd look. If you collected back then, you know that feeling. It never really leaves you.
RetroSlabs exists because that feeling deserves protection.
Somewhere along the way, collecting got complicated, grading fees, price charts, cards treated like stocks. We're not against any of that (we grade and collect slabs too). But we believe the cards themselves are the point. That's why we build slab guards worthy of the cards inside them, sell sealed product you never have to second-guess, and price everything the way we'd want to be priced as collectors, because we are.
Here's the part we're proudest of: collecting produces bulk, the commons and uncommons that pile up in boxes. Most shops sell it by the pound. We don't. Every bulk card that passes through RetroSlabs gets sorted, sleeved, and donated to kids who don't have the chance to collect the way we did, through local schools, hospitals, and children's charities in our community. Somewhere right now, a kid is opening a stack of Pokémon cards that used to sit forgotten in someone's closet, and having their own 2014 moment.
When you buy from RetroSlabs, that's what you're part of.
Founded by a collector. Run by a collector. For collectors.
Sincerely,
Founder of RetroSlabs
